• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Road to Durango

MarkLawson

RT-S PE#0031
Left home near Atlanta, GA at noon Friday & am now in Alamosa, Colorado. 1510 miles on the Spyder since hitting the road. Had a self-inflicted 'wound' today with an overheating problem. Funny how it waited over 1300 miles before it stared showing up. Had a couple of fuel stops where a bunch of antifreeze belched out on the ground. We thought (hoped) because I overfilled the other night, it was finally making room. Bought some antifreeze, just in case. Good thing I did. Finally, I got a warning that I was overheating and pulled over. Added over half of the antifreeze and when I closed up the cooling system, I believe I discovered the problem. The night before leaving home, I topped off the cooling system (over filled the bottle), but had a very difficult time getting the pressure cap in place. I suspect I failed to get it properly seated, causing the problems today. Being in higher altitude (lower boiling point) may have been the factor that pushed it over the line. No more overheating even with pulling a pass or two. Looking forward to trouble free riding tomorrow. Supposed to get down to 39 tonight,so will be a bit nippy when we pull out as we head to Gunnison.

Good catch

Mark.

Sorry you had the incident, but that's a good catch. That reservoir is so darn hard to see properly.

Have a great trip and y'all take some pics for us to see at our next meeting.

I did that on my GS when I first took the cap off and put it back on. It is a booger to get on right and it will puke if it's not on right. See you in a few. :doorag:

Hey Mark, glad it wasn't a major problem..............see you tomorrow in Durango, sitting in Alb.N.M. right now!
