I believe a couple of the places that everyone needs to ride to is Hoover Dam and the new bypass bridge. The strip in Las Vegas. Pyramid Lake, Reno. The complete length of the loneliness highway, US 50 which run across nevada northern part.

Those are all good. I would add Lake Tahoe and possibly the extraterrestrial highway 375. Everyone could see area 51 even though it doesn't exist.

More Suggestions:

Red Rock state park outside Vegas is pretty nice--gets hot there though.

Utah: Zion Park, Bryce Canyon, Cedar Breaks National Monument--mostly within a days drive of Vegas.
