revisiting moving the gps.

I want to pull the existing factory gps wiring from the steering location and move it to the top dash position using one of JThornton dash mounting devices. Has anyone doe this? I could find folks installing the initially from scratch but not moving and utilizing the oem wiring. factory Garmin zumo on the limited must be wired to the radio somewhere also. ?????
