• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

reverse doe not work with trailer

I drove my rt sm5 with trailer from Tucson AZ to Chattanooga TN. Somewhere along the trip I lost the lights to my trailer. I also lost the reverse as I could not activate the button on the bike. When we brought it to the can am dealership here in Chattanooga this is what they said--Tech found trailer module wires crushed and the module appears to have shorted out. Tech unplugged the trailer module and attached as stock, unit then went into reverse. everything appears to be working without the trailer module connected.-- So now we cannot use the trailer because if we plug it in, it shortens out the reverse and the bike then does not have reverse. The tech stated a $500.00 cost to repair this issue. If we can do this ourselves, we certainly will. THe tech said module cost is $216.50 and labor cost $255.00. Help Spyder Lovers

Blown trailer module. The dealer prescribed the correct cure. Make sure it is installed correctly, inside the inner fender. The wires should not be exposed and wire damage should not occur if the module is properly installed.

Questions:

how old is your spyder.

did you have the trailer hitch / module installed at time of purchase.

do you have BEST extended warranty.

One of the reasons I pushed for as many accessories to be installed at purchase CB, trailer hitch etc. Is that they are all covered by the extended warranty where as if you install afterwards there only covered by the items warranty itself.

If you had them installed at purchase and you're still covered by a warranty it worth looking into.
