• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone tryed replacing dead led's in a RT tail light. Friend has 4 dead ones asked dealer about them. $300.oo for a new light dealer says they are not changeable.:banghead:

Don't know..!!

don't have an RT but unless the led's are single units you can't replace them. If they are strips, strings or clusters you will have to change the whole unit. Would seem you do not have to change the whole assembly..:dontknow:

Sorry, you will have to change the entire assembly, unless you can figure a way to dismantle it and replace individual LEDs or strips. Finding matching brightnesses could be a challenge, too. Modern cars are much the same...light assemblies instead of replaceable bulbs. I can't say it is pleasing, but the lights are brighter.

Guess over the winter will take a look at his an see if we can get apart without breaking anything. See what happens from there.

Which light

If you are referring to the high mounted trunk light or one of the OEM lights?

Regardless of which I am in agreement with Scotty finding a replacement LED would be a real challenge. Try looking on the net for the web of Mouser Electronics you will have to download their catalog which is a PDF. There is another on line source named silver mine or gold mine that I have heard ham radio guys talking up too but I gave up home brewing years ago.

I have been working with LEDs for almost as many years as there have been LEDs. I have never seen one fail. Instead, the connections, circuit board or some other mechanical thing has broken. Usually, checking the wires or circuit board will find the problem. Re-soldering the connections will often work to correct the problem. Until you have really checked it out and concluded it can't be fixed, don't spend the money. If it can't be fixed, at least you tried.
