• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Removing the headlight bulbs with just the service panel off

I see a lot of members here stating that it is a complicated task to remove and replace the oem headlight bulbs. So to demonstrate that it is possible to do it with just the service panels off, I made a quick vid showing the simple process. I picked the left side because it is the hardest to do. The right side is much easier.

I have aftermarket LED headlights on mine that were installed with just the service panels off. I don't recommend this to non-mechanic skilled individuals or people who are afraid to just about everything...

Would be nice.....

If all could do that. I don't know how that particular bulb is held in place but some can be a bear. The RS is tough but doable through the side panel when airbox is removed but you can not see what you are doing and usually get minor cuts and abrasions...:banghead:

Good job. I think my hands are too big and I have too much junk packed in there now but nice to see it can be done.

I concur, this is one of those jobs that the local neighborhood mechanic would do for $20. You would struggle the whole day and he would do it in 5 minutes with a cigarette in his mouth.

My skills were polished in the Army. I would spent several hours cursing up a storm trying to installed parts on my aircraft following the manual while my platoon sergeant sat and laugh and finished the job in 5 minutes.
