We are getting ready to head out for Americade on Wed and will be taking all back roads, weather permitting, so I took my two Reda Gas Cans down to fill them up. I filled one 1” from the bottom of the neck and the other ½” from the bottom of the neck. I put them both in the back of my truck and let them sit all day in the heat, 90+. What I found out was that the gas can that I left 1” of air space had built up pressure and had expanded and the other one with ½” of air space did not. There were no leaks of fumes coming from either can. I toped off the one gas can within ½” of the bottom of the neck and I am ready to go. I know that to some this might not seem to be a good idea, but when you travel the back roads sometimes gas is hard to find and this gas can will provide the margin we may need to get down the road or we may be able to assist another rider. It is very important that the cap is tight, both of my gas cans I tighten past the safety tabs.
