• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My 2009 SE5 is in the shop having mods added before I take possession. I've seen numerous posts about recall issues but they are spread all over the place. The BRP site says there are NO product recalls at this time. I tried Googling "recalls" but cannot find a list of known issues

Before I take possession, I'd like to have all of the KNOWN problems taken care of. Is there a comprehensive list of recall issues or should I be confident that a 2009 has them corrected before shipping?

I think they refer to them as service bulletins until the government gets involved. All service bulletins are done by serial number, which the dealer can check. If it's not got any miles on it yet, you may be able to get the new style brake pads for free. I can't remember all of them, but there was a parking brake pedal parts change, master cylinder resevoir caps change. I would get the Kens air box filter since the stock puralator filter doesn't seal. Maybe keep 2 extra of all the relays and use a piece of foam in the top to keep them in place when the lid is on. I think the vibes may be killing these relays too, so that foam will also help with that. They are always updating the software inputs from BUDS, so you may have some updates already waiting to be installed. Lamonster came up with using an air/water seperator between the airbox and engine breather tube that keeps the oil out of the airbox...it usually ends up leaking out the edges of the airbox. Make sure the mirrors are full fwd and tightend down, otherwise the little teeth that hold it in position shear off and the mirrors wobble forever until you drive a set screw though them. Might as well take the little plastic beauty cover pieces up front near the mirror mounting bases off and store them before the blow off going down the road anyway. My bar ends came off too, cyclegear has much better looking ones anyways. Don't pull too hard on the passenger grab handles, they are plastic resin and will crack off. Careful going in and out of driveways/ speedbumps ect...the nose is low to the ground and sticks far out in front of the wheels, so it takes a while before the nose rises up. It may scrape occasionally, but thats much better than a sudden impact. Practice taking corners until you get some good visual orientation so you don't run your rims and tires into curbs and center islands...I noticed this was a problem on most of the demo spyders I saw...lots of sidewall and rim damage. Be extra careful not to make a risky right, left or U-turn into traffic especially from a slow roll or dead stop. Under hard acceleration, the VSS could kick-in if it senses a tip, fishtail or rear wheel spin and hinder your acceleration causing an accident. That would be another good item to practice in a parking lot. I'm sure there's much more, but this will get you started.

If you find yourself out in the middle of no where or hundreds of miles away from a spyder service center and go into limp mode There's a rumor that you can remove all 4 wheel sensors and stow them away from their targets so you can travel at regular speeds. But I thought the RPMs were limited in limp mode, maybe they are only limited when the wheel sensors sense speed.
