• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

REAR WHEEL SQUEAK

Mr. White

New member
When I back BR1 out of the barn, in neutral, engine off, I get a slight squeak every 360 degree turn of the rear wheel. It is faint, but there. I guess the disc or pad are slightly out of alignment.

I am going in to my dealer in the morning as I had a "check DPS" screen last Saturday and they said bring BR1 in for a BUDS check up.

Is this a big deal that I should mention it or nothing to worry about? Okay, I will answer my own question. It is easy to show (hear) so I will mention it and see what they say....thanks.

PS: Rode today and no "check DPS"....BR1 ran like a hose. :ohyea:

You'll get used to it. Combination of the brake pad squeal (now minimized with the Gen III brake pads) and a slightly warped or canted rotor. The slight warpage is common and is not covered under warranty, or the cushioned rotor (if the Spyder has one) can be moving out of parallel slightly on the mounting biscuits, as it does on the BMWs. Basically you are hearing light contact between the brake pads and rotor. I wouldn't sweat it if it doesn't wake the dead. Mine does it, too, but it doesn't scream like my 2010 did and Nancy's 2008 does.

Thanks, Scotty. It is VERY light, hard to hear if more than a couple of feet from BR1.

I know what I will do...I will go see my psychiatrist and after a few visits, it will still squeak, but it won't bother me! :roflblack: :ohyea:

It will get a little louder on damp days. My knees don't like damp days either.:roflblack:

Spyder tech said squeak was a very slight pad squeak...no problem, so off I went with my steering sensor changeout.
