• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear Tire size on an RS-S

I found tons of threads on the rear tires, there is rediculous amounts of info, and repeat of info. I want SPECIFIC info i.e. people need to say what they are putting what on. There are tons of differences between an RT and a 2009 RS SM5.

I know the stocker is a 225/55/15 but what size's CAN I possibly run that is different? :ani29:

I have a 215/60R15 Michelin HydroEdge on my RT. Will put one one my wife's GS, if she ever rides it enough to need a new tire...

No nanny issues, no slips or slides (yet), and the speedometer & odometer are both more accurate.

As long as your overall rolling circumferences are close enough; you can have all sorts of fun with those tire size calculators playing with your options.
Of course; changing all 3 tires at once to the same "size" gives you way more options.
Or even mount all 3 speed sensors on one wheel so as to mislead Nanny a bit...

nojoke I'm not joking nearly as much as you think... The speed differential from different tire sizes gives Nanny fits. I've seen posts from several riders who just mounted all three on one wheel to keep her quiet...

Not that I have any idea of how to pull this little stunt off though! :opps:

CORRECT TIRE SIZE

225/55-15 ?..NOT.....OEM IS 225/50-15...at least that's what came on my Spyder ........Mike

No? You probably came up with the idea (or designed it). Your innocent guise doesn't fool me for a nanosecond!!:D

:roflblack:
:roflblack: I actually AM that stupid! :roflblack: Just ask my Missus about the time I got my arm caught under the engine in my XCR440... :opps: That was a VERY long afternoon in the driveway! ;)

TIRE SIZEING

You're right, the stock tire is a 225/50-15. That's why some are getting away with a 205/55-15, thought a 215/55/15 would be a better match.

Ron I agree with you. If my Kumho ever wears out I will go with the 215/55-15 size it's just a hair larger in circumference than OEM........Mike
