• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear Suspension

Does anyone have knowledge of a possible replacement "heavier" Spring for the rear of the Spyder. I've seen the $ 2000 fixes for the suspension but I am looking for Low Tech Low Cost solutions for Two-Up riding with a trailer.

Rear sock is a remote reservoir dual rate spring set-up with hydraulic high / low speed compression and rebound adjustments. Rear shock is $895.00US.
Installed in my :spyder:

Have you adjusted the factory setting to the max setting on the shock??

Not sure if you are aware of the shock adjustment or not.

I ryde two up (400 lbs. with gear) with a trailer all the time and only have my rear shock on the next to the stiffest setting. Great ride, no bottoming, aggressive ryding no problem.

Thanks everyone, I ordered the Elka rear set up. I'll let you know when it is installed and how well it helped the situation.

What are you trying to achieve from the rear shock? You say you want a stiffer spring but do you want a stiffer ride, more plush ride, better bump soak up, better road contact on rough asphalt? I'm not sure that having low and high speed compression will have any effect with the weight you are carrying, particularly on generally smooth surfaces. You may have just paid $900 for a slightly softer spring! Elka do many types but you need to speak to them first. You could certainly dial in a harder and better rebound for the weight but the dual rate spring might actually make your ride softer.
