• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear Shock

Anybody ride with Elka shock in the rear? Does it improve the ride? I ride 50% with my wife the rest of the time alone. Is it worth the money? Is there an alternative? I have a 2016 RTS special series, and my dealer already replace the rear shock ($79.00). When I hit a bump there is a loud KLANG from the rear. So I remove all the air on the bladder and bounce the back end up and down and that KLANG noise is awful. So I put back 45 pounds of air and bounce up and down and the noise (KLANG) is still there. I believe it's the cheap shock ($79.00) that does that noise. Very annoying.

Stock shock is good for about 350 lbs. Elka is the way to go, I would also add a little air to your bladder .

We sell Spring Stiffeners that will strengthen the rear spring that some have found to work very well. Let me know if you want the link.
Also, when ryding 2 up I would set the air ryde at next to the highest level and see if that helps. If you don't have the bars on the dash and add manually, that would be about 70 lbs. The bag is rated at 100lbs, but the pump only goes to about 80 or so.

This is my third Spyder, 2008 GS, 2011 RTS, and this new one 2016 RTS Special series. On my 2011 I had Bajaron sway bar, and Elka shock up front, but the back was stock. This new one the back end just plain suck, and I try every combination of air in the bladder with my wife and without on it. It's the second BRP shock ($79.00) put on by my dealer under warranty. My original question is: does anybody has an Elka shock in the back suspension? and what is your experience with it?
