• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear Shock bad?

Is there any way to tell if your rear shock is bad? I have a RTS and not sure but I think rear shock has gone bad, or maybe it's the air bag. Just seems a little different ride right now. What should I check?

There are a few things you can try. First, check the air pressure in the system at the Schrader valve under the seat. On an RTS, there should always be at least ten pounds of pressure. If there is pressure, check again after sitting overnight, to see if it leaks down. It should not. You can check the function of the shock by pushing down sharply on the rear of the Spyder. It should rebound in a single motion, rather than bouncing, and should not make a clunking noise. It is best to do this test with the air suspension set no higher than midway.

If you also want to test the automatic suspension (ACS) function, start the Spyder, put it in gear, then change the settings. Have someone else observe or measure the height at the rear fender. Upon raising the setting, the compressor should run and the rear should rise. Upon lowering the setting, the solenoid valve should release air, and the rear should lower.

have the dealer check it.

I thought I had a leaking schrader valve, they looked at it, and the rear shock was bad. they ordered a new one.

we only had 4300km on the bike.

As usual. :agree:. Mine went bad, but did not realize how bad until I added the mod from Baker-Built that is manual (push a button) ACS. I knew it was going down over time, but not so fast.Replaced under warrenty. I asked BRP abiut it at Maggie Valley, They said, there was a Dealer "mesage" ?) about it.

Big difference.

Yes, there is a Service Bulletin and a repair kit.
