• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear rim/tire removal for replacement.

Hey guys. Finless has a great video on YouTube for an RT model that is exactly the same as what I'm going to show you pretty much. But I thought I'd show pics on how to do this just to help others.

So first thing I did was drive up on ramps for the front (no need to do this. But it gets it higher off the ground.)

Then I placed the jack under the center frame bar at the rear just in front of the catalytic converter.

I jacked the machine up just till the rear was off the ground.

I then removed the bottom shock bolt only (15mm socket on each side)

Then you can play with the jack to get it just right so you can pull out the bolt. Or if you're strong enough. I just lifted the rear suspension with one hand and pulled the bolt out when it was easy to do.

After the bolt is out jack up the machine so the wheel is off the ground a couple inches.

Now take the belt guard off. Just 2 torx screws. Not sure on size. But easy.

Now grab the top part of the belt just in front of the sprocket and roll the belt reverse and pull outwards on it a bit at a time (do not get your fingers caught in the sprocket it will hurt like a b@$&h.) Keep doing this until the belt comes off.

Now on the other side remove the traction control sensor. It's just behind the caliper and has a silver hex head screw on it. There is also shims when it comes off. Don't lose those.

Now remove the rear caliper or you will scratch your rim. It's 2 bolts 16mm in size and easy this hoses get at.

Now remove the axle. 36mm socket on each side. The right side while facing this Honeoye rear of the bike is the one to come off. And you pull the axle out through the left.

You can adjust the jack so the axle comes out easy. Or again lift with one hand and pull with the other.

Be careful. There is a black plate on the right that will fall and scratch your frame if not careful. Get another person to hold that plate if needed.

After axle is removed. Pull the tire and rim out and you're done.

The dealer will need all the parts on the rim to balance properly. So don't take anything off.

I just ran a couple zip ties through the rim so I don't lose the bushings etc.

Attached are pics.

Hope this helps.

Stiff

Oh and while it's apart. Do not turn power on and don't hit the brakes.

Reverse steps to put back on. Make sure the adjusting plates and bolts at the back are tight. They should not be loose at all. It's a pain in the a$$

I haven't installed the rear wheel yet. But I'll post when I do.

Take the bottom shock bolt off so it's easier to take off the belt.

Or maybe you don't have to on the F3. The RT you had to maybe it was just for clearance.

On an F3, you really do not have to take the shock bolt off but it is easier to remove the belt if you drop the axle down by doing so. Also once the belt is off, its much easier to remove and install the axle shaft.

I never take the belt guard off, its easy enough to slip the belt off the sprocket with it in place.

Rumor has it, some of the 2017s have flanges on both sides of the rear sprocket. This will make things a bit different in sequence, requiring removal of the axle shaft before you can remove the belt.

As I remember...

The reason for removing the shock bolt was to keep the belt tension and alignment the same. Don't know about the F3...:dontknow:
