• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear passenger seat belt

Hi

Ive just been told by the dealer that from January 2017, all European Spyders fitted with back rests will have to have a passenger seat belt fitted? I asked does one have to be fitted if a front back rest is fitted, and the answer is no, just the rear. Can Am are rolling out small side fitting brackets to attach the seat belts to and these should be available around December, price to be announced?

Anyone heard anything about this?

Ant

i find that very strange. also dangerous, i would rather be thrown from a bike rather then role with one in a accident

Hi Ant
I think your dealer has a calendar from another planet and thinks it's April 1st.

I emailed BRP and this was their reply

Dear Mr. Shoffren,

Thank you for contacting BRP customer service.

We have confirmed with the appropriate department, that there will be no need for any seat belt for the Spyders with rear beckrests.

Ask your dealer if he thinks they can breed elephants with highway boards or horses with heated saddles

....and in the UK!

Completely uninformed bilge! Your dealer is either making it up to impress you with his knowledge or
I want some of what he's smoking!! Mind you some of the crap coming out of Brussels (EU HQ) is equal in stupidity.
Here's an example: EU bureaucracy.jpg click on the text.
