• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear brake rub.

Was moving my Spyder today and found that when rolling forward its quiet but backwards its has a rubbing sound and I can feel the vibration and it does this off and on while rolling. Is there anyway I can lube it or clean it without removing it? Heard something on this site about a brake pad spray ?? Thanks for any help. And could it be something serious?

My wife's spyder has done this for as long as I can remember. Putting CRC De-Squeak on the rotor stops it for a while. According to her dealer, other than being kind of irritating, there is nothing wrong.

I have the same problem. If you spray water to wash the spyder, the dealer said to spray the back pads; that works to quiet it down for a few days. I say spray water b/c there are quite a few here that don't use water or don't spray water, which has been covered before.

My 2012 RS makes a squeak or howling noise when pushing the bike backwards from the rear brake. My friends 2011 RSS does exactly the same thing. No worries....

SQUEEK

When you finally need new rear pads try Bajaron's EBC pads from what I've heard they are SQUEEK-LESS, also stop the spyder better......IMHO....Mike

I have the Gen-3 BRP pads on the rear. Yep...they squeak in reverse, but they don't squeak (or down-right squeal) during normal braking like the originals. I'm happy with them...it might be a little embarrassing sometimes, but I still have the coolest ride wherever I go! (unless there is a cooler Spyder there...which does happen!)
