• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

R35 Hard bags

Hi. I have posted other places about my Hard saddle bags and my lost key. Have resolved my issue doing this

I purchased a new lockset with 2 barrels and 4 keys. I purchased these here.

http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/910

The part number is Givi z227

I took the bags with Spyder attached to my local lock smith who had already tried to pick the lock with no success. He bored out the barrel. (basicly it looked like he put the drill in at the top of the key opening and drilled down then side to sided it till the lock would turn with a screw driver.

Once this was done we had the cases off and open.. We disassembled the lock and latch mechanism. (this was unnecessary) I t turns out that there are just 2 screws that hold the plastic piece that latches the bags shut. When you pull this out. Remove the E clip, pull out the old lock set. Then insert the new sleeve that comes with the lock-set. (the new tumbler is smaller than the original and the sleeve makes it fit.
slide the new tumbler in, replace the plastic cam and e clip.

re install the latching mechanism.
YOU are Good to go.

Anyway the most important piece of info here is that the Givi PN Z227 Works just fine in the Can-Am R35 bags

Ride ON!
