• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

R-35 side case question

A question to those who have ordered and installed their own side cases and color matching panels.

Mine came colored without any top clear coat.

I have three choices to follow right now and would like to hear some suggestions on the finish.

1 - Leave them alone

2 - Attempt to spray either an enamel or lacquer clear coat myself

3 - Let an auto body shop spray a clear coat for me.

Thanks

Is anyone familiar with or can point me in the right direction for finding out what the Spyder paint composition is? My side case covers came colored, but not clear coated. I went to 2 auto body shops today inquiring if they would be able to shoot a clear coat on them if I brought them in. They wouldn't touch them as they stated they wouldn't have any clue as to the composition of the paint and did not want to risk putting something on that would peel, crack, or otherwise destroy the color on there now or actually damage the panels.

I have practiced shooting various clear coats from spray cans on spare pieces of ABS plastic around the garage and find the results unacceptable.

Can't help re paint type, but someone may know.

I just used the coloured panels as they came.

looks ok on your avatar?
