There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Question..replacing rear tire..

When you say " I removed the rear wheel myself and carried it to the local tire dealer to put your new tire on"....did you take the wheel fully assembled or do you have to remove the brake disc, hub, sprocket, etc..? :dontknow:.. Thanks...

I am waiting to do this until my rear tire "needs" to be replaced as it also involves replacing somewhere around $350 worth of seals, bearings, runs, and spacers. The tire shop that I have dealt with only wants the rim and the tire to be mounted on it as well.

Hmmmm... not sure you have to replace any parts. Removing the hub only exposes the reusable long crush spacer... you know, the one I originally screwed up... this one: http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14501

It can go right back in when reassembling.

Now, if you're saying that your shop is a car shop and they only deal with the hub with bearings removed because they need the larger opening for their tire machine, that's another story. I would find another place if that's the case.

You hit the nail on the head with that one. My closest dealer is 2 hours away, so that is why I figured I would just wait until it was time.

Obviously I was also under the wrong impression that once you removed the rear tire, all of those other components needed to be replaced as well. I guess I got lost and confused somewhere in all of the powder coating threads.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I think I have to replace all parts because I am getting a different rim and powder coating it. I'm still waiting  Supposedly ready to pick up powder coated stuff Wednesday or Thursday....not betting on it though because I ran into several problems. Sprocket cover is plastic, not metal. Rims were already powder coated, which is apparently hard to remove....and the list continues....

Best of luck on that. Did you start a new thread in the mods section on your parts yet? I looked but did not see anything, and am wondering if I missed it.

I also apologize to Hamie for the slight hijack of this thread. :)

Oops it is a hijack...

Not yet, nothing to post at this point but a spyder without wheels or handle bar cover or panels...

Once I get the powder coated stuff I'll take pictures and post.

Back to the back wheel...my understanding is Big O will do it, but without the extra stuff on the back.
