• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Question regarding smart phones.

I have malware/antivrus protection, or whatever you call it, installed on my Mac (at the suggestion of AppleCare), and on my Samsung tablet. Are cell phones just as susceptible to malware/viruses?

I was told to NEVER add anti-virus software to our LG phones. They told me that it could really mess things up.
(This advice came from our Verizon Rep.)

I have McAfee on my LG G6 and have had no problems at all with phone performance. The only time my phone gets wacky is when AT&T does an update.

The threat is increasing, especially if you download apps from other than trusted sources, follow unknown links in texts or emails, surf the web, and so forth. In my view, mobile security is becoming increasingly important, but if all you do is make and receive phone calls and texts the risk is significantly mitigated. I've used a variety of different security programs and currently use Bitdefender. It's now my favorite.

I've had an Android smartphone for years and have never had any such issues. I wouldn't worry about it.
