There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Question for the passenger on RT with rear volume controls

This is a question from one passenger to another about the RT's rear volume controls. Is there a noticeable difference when you turn the volume up using the rear controls? I don't think our volume control is working. I can change songs and even change the play list, but the volume doesn't seem to change any :dontknow:. What is your experience? :chat:

The volume control for the passenger only controls the volume if you have a headset plugged in. Does not control the rear speaker volume.

I found this out by asking the dealership. They in turn had to contact BRP since the dealership expected it to work like I did and control the rear speaker volume.

If the passenger volume is a bit high, try a full face shield instead of an open face on him/her. That should help :dontknow: :yikes::D :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack: :ohyea::bowdown:

Remember that you can adjust the relative volume of the rear/front speakers using the fader control in the setup menu, too. If the front volume is good, but the rear is low, set the bias more toward the rear, then adjust the main volume to suit.

I have connected my front speakers via an Autocom switch that allows me to
switch the music from the front speakers to an input for a Bluetooth
transmitter the switch is 3 way

1 - Front speakers on
2- Speakers off
3 - Music sent to Bluetooth transmitter

The only problem I had was I could still hear the rear speakers
I tried the Fader on the Audio screen by setting it up to the max on Front
Speakers expecting this to close down the rear speakers completely
but on mine it does not - They can still be heard not as loud but
enough to know they are still on

So whilst riding with music going to my headset - Front speakers off
Music would still be coming out of the rear speakers

I have solved this problem by fitting a switch near the rear Hand grips which can turn the speakers off
This has the added bonus of allowing any passanger the option of turning off the rear speakers off if they don't want the music

I just wondered if others have found the fader does not fade out the rear speakers when changed

switching off back speakers

Placing a switch in the line to the speakers might not be a good idea as the amplifier required to see some sort of loading, best is to switch the amplifier output to a resistor instead of the speaker. The resistor to have roughly the same resistance value as the speaker, not knowing this I guess it is 5 to 10 Ohm
Get a 5 watt resistor as this will handle the power if one accidently switches the volume up and the resistor is in circuit
Just a suggestion
