• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Question for 2013 Spyder RT-S Owners

I have a 2013 RT-S and was noticing that unlike previous years, the front shocks do not have an adjustable preload collar.

Has any one looked into the possibility of ordering a pair of 2012 preload collars (the parts break out indicate they have a separate part number from the shock) and installing them on a pair 2013 shocks? I would love the ability to tune the preload on my OEM shocks without having to replace them with expensive after market shocks; at least until I wear them out from riding that is...

Any thoughts???????

You can't just put the old preload collars on the new shocks...the shocks don't have the adjustment detents or reinforced construction for the adjusters. You would have to buy a set of shocks, plus the adjusting rings and the ring protectors...and possibly also the springs and miscellaneous parts. Or you could buy some Elkas. It is also likely the new Sachs shocks for the 2014 will fit, but I don't think they are adjustable either.

Thanks!

Thanks NancysToy. I was looking for a cheap solution to add a preload capability to the OEM shocks. I am irritated because 2012 and earlier RT-Ss have a pre-load capability and 2013s don't. I should NOT have to spend $$$'s for this kind of capability on a $24K bike.:banghead:

Oh well its time for plan B.
