First, I have previously owned an Ultimate seat for my Honda Goldwing, am familiar with them and would like to stay with what I know. Additionally, their Florida show room is an easy mornings drive from my location. I am now considering another Ultimate Tall Boy for my 2019 Spyder F3Ltd as I am just about sitting on the fuel tank now with the OEM seat - yea, I'm a big guy, well . . 6'2" and 220lbs.
My question is, to those of you who have owned an Ultimate Tall Boy on an F3, concerns seat height and how far rearward the seating position is compared to OEM. The Ultimate website states "Our Tall Boy measures to sit you approximately the same height as the stock seat and 1" further back from the handlebars than the stock O.E.M. seat" Is this accurate? It's the "rearward" dimension I'm really concerned about. I'd like to know this before I make a wasted 3-hour trek over to their Ormond Beach location.
I recall that on my previous Tall Boy for the Goldwing that it seemed to sit me about an inch higher as well as somewhat further rearward, so I question their statement about being the same height. I know that I can always return a seat within their 14 day trial period but don't want to go through all that if I don't have to. Anyway, where does the Ultimate Tall Boy actually sit you ?
