There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Question About Insurance

Last year I crashed my Kawi Zx10 and got a wreakless operation charge. I've had 6 months probation and had to take a driving improvment course. Being that this was my first and only ticket I've ever recieved my record was wiped cleaned. My question is....when I go in to put insurance on my new Spyder will I have to tell them about my accident and a charge that is no longer on my record?

I've asked a few people about this and get mixed answers. I figured maybe some of you guys might have had a similiar experience and can help me out. Thanks:pray:

If your record is now clean I don't see any reason why you need to tell them about. Usually your tickets will show up for a few years, but I've never voluntarily told my insurance about any of my tickets and have never had an issue.

I did an online quote with Progressive and it was $1,200 per year with a $186 down payment......way cheaper than my Zx10!!!

insurance

Geico wanted $525 from me for the Spyder and I have 3 other bikes on the policy. Total $1582. They told me it is rated high performance.

depends on state /// some states are cheap and others are WOW...

2 exact age drivers with exact drining records could me miles apart on rate depending on their state of residence

Rates are different down to the zip code, age, credit rating, driving record, how you use it, limits, deductibles, and on....

.

I checked the other day when I was canceling the insurance on the Strom. The only question they asked me was "How many cc's?"

Full coverage with $250 deductibles for comp/collision, no medical- $378/year, which is about $100 a year more than I paid on the Strom (650).

Oh, State Farm BTW, with house, car & truck insured as well as the bike.

Is that for full coverage on the $393.00 price?

Full coverage, I have my V-strom on the same policy and it's only $157 a year for full coverage. I get an experienced rider discount, had my motorcycle endorsement since I turned 16, and my wife gets the MSF discount.

I agree with the folks here. If you've gotten it out of your record, no need to volunteer anything.

Things that effect the cost of insurance, location, age, driving record, deductible, level of coverage, options, etc.

With respect to insurance. San Antonio, Male, 48 years old, 35+ years experience, MSF course 10 years ago (didn't help), state minimum liability, full coverage, no medical, $1,000 deductible.

Got the best quote from Marc Fischer who resold me a policy with Pacific (something). Came out to $514 per year. Around $109 to get it started and 10 payments of $44 per month with auto pay from your checking account.

That was better than Allstate (house and other cars was $1,500), Geico $542 and Progressive $612.

I guess Texas is an expensive state.

Anytime they issue a new policy, they are going to pull your DMV record anyhow. So if that's clean, no worries..

Also, AAA is $454/yr out here in California plus they offer motorcycle roadside service.

$349 full coverage

$349 for full-coverage Progressive in NY. (My total $792 premium also includes the two Victorys).

47, own home, one wife, two kids, two dogs, etc...

I think it's a great deal.

Ride on.

BIKELINE

TRY BIKELINE, I INSURED THE SPYDER FOR $292.00, AND THAT INCLUDED TOWING. $500.00 DEDUCTABLE, I DID NOT TAKE THE MEDICAL, BECAUSE I HAVE OTHER MEDICAL INS. THEY USUALLY ADVERTISE IN THE MOTORCYCLE MAGS.
