I know you folks on the forum will know about this! I had highway pegs put on my 2012 RT almost immediately after I bought it, and have brackets for those pegs attached underneath the spyder (kewl metal) on the frame. These extend out from the bike and pegs are put on them. I want to get floor boards but have been reluctant because of the clearance issue- will the floor boards interfere with the brackets? Anyone out there have this issue? Ideas?

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Another question: I have noticed many RT's with highway pegs mounted to the plastic black splash guard (which would make a good foot rest itself). I assume that you just drilled through and mounted them. Have you had any problems with this set up? I have seen the Lamonster and other peg types mounted there. Have been thinking of relocating my black widow pegs (kurykyn) there and removing the kewl metal brackets for floor boards. Experiences or advice? The forum always knows!

In some cases the floor boards will have mounts with brackets enabeling you to add highway pegs and should allow enough clearence as needed.

Depends on which floorboards you go to, I had and currently
have the kewl metal bracket you are talking about on my 2010RT,
when I added the seal floorboards, they laid right over the top and
did not interfere with the Kewl Metals after I had removed the two
extension arms and board. The open bolt hole I used in fact to attach my Guardian Bell .
Seal FloorBoards cleared the KewlMetal
This is similar to the board I have on order from Diamond R and it uses one of the same brackets as the KewlMetal.
When I went to replace my Seals with Diamond R's that did not work because
the bracket engine bolt they use is the same one attached to on the Kewl Metals.
So I having my dealership remove and install the Diamond R boards in about 2-3 weeks.
I got a quote of 1 hour labor to remove the Kewl Metal brackets. The seals I had
installed myself when I got those.

Most hiway pegs that look as though they are mounted to the black plastic are suported by a frame mount for stability.
In my case i purchased the ISCI floor boards and pegs which had provided locations for the hyway pegs as part of the mounting assembly for the money i found these to be excellent quality and work as stated.

I have the Seal Pups floorboards and the KewlMetal highway pegs, no problem.
