• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Quake off Alaska's Coast

Have things stopped shaking yet?
The Weather Channel was reporting a 7.5 magnitude shake! :yikes:
"AK", Has the jiggling stopped yet in Chugiak?

Alaska reporting in. We did not feel any shaking or jiggling on this one in Chugiak. The epicenter of the earthquake was over 667 miles from us. It was by the "inside" passage closest to Sitka. The Alaska Earthquake information system pegged the earthquake at 6.84 magnitude.

Thank you for your concern--that was definately a big one. My biggest "ride" to date was one that had an epicenter in Denali Park--about 300 miles to the North. About 5 years ago. It was about a 7.0. It tore up roads North of here near Tok and Mentasta. We shook and shuddered for about 45 seconds and had about a 25 second aftershock. When that is going on it seems like a very long time. No damage, but the pictures on the wall were crooked and the chandalier was swaying for a little while after.
