There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Pulls to the left...???

My Spyder recently developed a tendency to pull to the left under anything more than gradual braking. If I have to get on the brakes with any kind of effort it wants to pull to the left. The first couple of times it happened it almost took me into the other lane. I'm curious if anyone else has noticed this?

I'm dropping it at the dealer this Saturday for it's 12,000 mile service and will be having them check out this issue as well as a couple others problems I've been having with it.

No fun.

Bummer! I could see how this could get you in serious trouble :yikes: real quick. Sounds as if your left brake is working but something wrong with your right brake cylinder.

These are not floating rotors or sliding calipers. You probably have a caliper/wheel cylinder/piston problem... stuck pistons... probably on the weak (right) side.

I wonder if it's yet another bad VCM. It's suppose to manage all the brake fluid when applied by the rider or the VSS. Maybe the right is getting nothing or the left is unrestricted. Can you make the left wheel skid?

Can't make the left wheel skid. When it was in the shop for the leaking gaskets and bad plug wire I had mentioned to the service manager that my brake pedal felt soft. It feels like there's no resistance behind the pedal until I've pumped it a few times. They said that my Spyder wasn't one of the one's that fell under the reservoir cover recall and that the pressure in the brake lines was fine. I wonder if that is connect somehow.

I continued to see brake fluid around my resevoir and asked about that yesterday when I broke my promise to myself and took the spyder back. To tell if you have the newest version of the resevoir cap, remove it and look at the underside. In the center, there should be a "U" or "V" shaped cut. It appears BRP did was take a razor and cut slits in the cap...thats the fix? Anyways, I had the cuts on mine.

Brakes

my spyder uses alot of brake fluid Ive almost used an entire bottle of brake fluid in the 6months ive owned my Spyder..Iam a tad bit hard on my brakes i tend to stop fast alot plus im a big dude im 60lbs over the weight limit of the spyder at 506:) im also 6'8 :) so im not sure if thats why it uses it :)...........Michael

Man, you seem to have a serious problem . Ive never known any vehicle to 'use' brake fluid in that quantity.

Them BRP lawyers got you running scared? :D :D :joke:
NO, I'm going to kick them in the butt and send them into limp mode for a change. No, actually I have plenty of days to qual for lemon, but 2 of my visits were rolled into to other visits so I have only 4 documented service calls. We are going to give it 2 more chances, then it will be a slam dunk.

Having re-read this post several times and worried over it a while it has just come to me. This is shouting to me now = = =
There must be a fluid leak onto the right disc and or pads, perhaps a seal is leaking, - to make it pull to the left.

Man I must be losing it to not have seen this earlier, especially with the amount of fluid 'used'.

Please check this NOW.

:yikes: :yikes: :yikes:

Well it's important for me to note that I haven't checked my brake fluid level. That was another poster who noted going through copious amounts of brake fluid. However when I asked my dealer to inspect my "soft" brake pedal they said both the fluid levels and pressure in the lines was fine. I haven't noticed any leaking fluid, however I have noticed a few times after rides that I have drops of something under my fender and on the swing arm that can't possibly be from water on the road as it's been a dry on the occasions I've noticed it.

Ask the dealer to perform the brake pressure pedal test when hooked to the computer, it should consistently be over 508 lbs every time you push it, mine is around 850 on the first try. i think you probably have air somewhere in the system especially if it is pulling when braking.
