We attended the International Motorcycle Show in Dallas yesterday. BRP had a very nice presence there with a number of 2011 RT's and RS's. The white 2011 RT is beautiful but I have always favored red on anything with wheels and the red 2011 RT is absolutely stunning. Scotty, I'm jealous. The shade of red they chose is perfect. I don't know what BRP calls it but I'd call it fire engine red and I haven't seen a picture anywhere that does it justice.
They also had several RS's including the one that is a copper color with flat black (don't know what they call those colors) that was very nice. The booth also had most, if not all, of BRP's riding gear and I was really impressed with some of it. Very nice looking gear and appeared to be very functional as well. I don't know who makes this riding gear but it looked to be well made. All in all, a very nice display and the rest of the show was quite nice as well although I was disappointed that, for the second year in a row, neither BMW nor Triumph had a booth.
If there are any flat track fans on Spyderlovers, Bubba Shobert was there doing a question and answer session and signing autographs and copies of "Taking it to the limit", a book by Peter Starr. Bubba is a 3-time AMA Grand National Dirt Track Champion and one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. He had the potential to be a MotoGP Champion until he suffered a career ending head injury in a freak accident on the cool down lap after a race at Laguna Seca.
