• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Not trying to be negative, but parts and accessories for the Can Am seem extremely pricey. I also own a Harley Ultra and even as high as their parts and accessories are they are cheaper than most items I've found for the Can Am.......I'm not cheap, but I don't like being gouged either. It pays to shop around for sure......................:yikes::yikes::yikes:

The Harley has been around for quite a while and has a huge market. The Spyder is just catching on, so options are still limited. It will change with time, but certainly no help to you now.

Yeah parts are high, quality is average. The worst part is trying to find certain BRP products to buy at any price. I wanted some XL BRP summer weight gloves. The dealer had one pair of extra small price was $69 which is a little higher than a similar HD glove for $54. I went to the Honda dealer and bought a similar First Gear glove for $29.

When you have low demand for parts or accessories, the price will naturally be higher. Take the Rivco RT floorboards. Essentially, they are a $100 pair of H-D floorboards with a custom bracket and the going price is $400. That's a fair price considering the time invested in designing the system, the potential liability if the bracket fails, etc.

As a former HD rider, I can say this much without even putting my feet on Rivco's floorboards. Those puppies will flat eliminate vibrations to your feet.

Did you ever have a boat ?

All our fun stuff costs, Do you know what B O A T stands for ?
Bust out another thousand.
I always gasp when buying motorcycle stuff, I am glad my wife likes bikes...
so far I have put just over $2000 in doo dads on my new to me 2008 GS but that's OK
I just got a good start

Bummer..for now..!!

as aftermarket folks get into it the prices will come down some. But as long as we pay their prices they won't. Brp does have some high prices but some are justified. Many are not. I manufactured many auto parts and was getting into bike parts and know material cost and set up costs and some have heavy mark up. So already you can get bar end, air filters, oil filters, plugs, tires, bulbs, fuses, grips, plug wires, brakes, bearings etc at better prices after market. Problem is getting dealers to use/install them. If you find independent shops or do the work yourself you can take advantage of it. I won't get into farkels/acc's thats a whole other ball of wax....!!:dontknow:
