• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have seen a few posts on this and I know others have had problems. I am on my 2nd cable and it doesn't work all of the time. This is for a 2011 that has the extra 'black box' in the cable assembly.

It can be the cable, the connection, or just a need to reboot the iPod. Sometimes they are particular about needing to be turned on before or after you start the Spyder. Sorry, I don't remember which they prefer. BTW, if you have a newer version iPod and use a converter cable, the Apple cable is more reliable than some aftermarket cables.

I am not having any problems with mine on a 2011 RT-S SM5. I have the black box in the cable (older version of BRP radio).
I leave it on all the time and never turn it off unless I know it will be parked for weeks.
If you turn off wifi, BT, set screen to full low dim, etc, the battery last days!
When I power up the spyder, I can hear the iPod (4th gen) make it's usually beep sounds that it is connected and charging (like when you connect it to your PC).

This is how I mounted mine. They heavy duty Velcro provides pretty good vibration damping. The black box is also mounted so it does not flap around.
