• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

has anyone tried one on their spyder does it help I ride two poeple all the time and it is a little sluggish on power compared to a goldwing will it help ?

hm

Open both ends and ad Powercommander then if you looking for more power and better performance
...in other words - bigger lungs and bigger furts, before you need Powercommander
... in another words - aftermarket performance air intake/filter and performance exhaust before you need Powercommander
.....on its own? - no need, dont waste your money, do it all the way or dont bother at all

Solution - loose passenger
..............and become a 2 Spyder family :ohyea:i meant....

If you don't have aftermarket pipes and air filters, the commander won't do a thing for you.

I'd recommend that you get your rpm up a bit. The Spyder isn't down that much on horsepower compared to the GW, but it does not have the low end torque that the Wing does. You can't just crank on the throttle, two up, at four grand and expect it to go. Drop down a gear or two, and you may be pleasantly surprised.

I have the pcv with auto tune and it wakes things up. But I have a k-n filter and full open exhaust with no cat. If your stock then no notable difference. 500.00 will not do nothing but make your wallet thinner.

thanks

I did increase my RPM and it helped alot and was wondering like I said about comander as on the goldwing it did or no it was the harley it made a difference thanks again all Ride safe Rich

I'm a bit baffled with this. I have a K&N air filter and have removed the Cat. I had used mid grade gas prior to changes but had to go to premium afterwards due to surging. Obviously more air is free flowing but doesn't the oxygen sensor see that and adjust for it? Otherwise it would just run leaner. I didn't see any lean symptoms and the fuel mileage didn't change one bit. I would have thought if it were leaner the fuel mileage would increase. Anyhow, with premium and star-tron additive the Spyder is running the best it ever has, peppier and very smooth. What is the power commander doing to help when intake and exhaust efficiency improves, richen the mixture?, adjusting timing?

Yes and yes it does richen to keep from running lean also the maps help to change timing and increase top end speed
you may find the better responce may cause you run it a little harder so the milage may suffer also.

The pcv really cant do must till you get out of the "closed loop range" 0-7200 rpm. 0-7200 rpm the 02 censor takes cake of every thing. once you get out of the closed loop and into the "open loop" the the ecm will only give as much fuel as the factory has programed it to. By giving it more air in and out she will run lean in the open loop...7200 rpm and above. This is when the pcv will take over and monitor and adjust to what ever mixture you tell it to.

Will the auto tune allow you to mess with the adjustments below 7200 rpm?
