• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I agree.

Agreed but they are a clever company that likes the puclic to push the hype.

Agreed, again. I don't mean to hijack the thread you started here, but you would think it would be a good idea to update the BRP webpage. Often. The last update I notice was way back when they changed the color of the Spyder to red. :dontknow:

I suppose these could be homemade shock covers that he slapped a Can-Am decal on, but don't you think folks would be lining up to purchase these if they are from the factory? Yet I don't find them (or many other Spyder doodads that exist) on any BRP website accessories area.

I think those are Can-Am ATV shock covers. Not sure how well they fit the Spyder's shocks but I heard of people buying two sets of them to do the fronts and the rear shock. But, you're right. You would think that BRP / Can-Am would at least cross market the ATV / Seadoo / Skidoo things they already have that would work on the Spyder. I'm sure there has to be at least a few items that fit in that category.

I have 1,000 miles on mine and the shocks look just like the day I bought it. Shock covers for ATVs protect from dirt and mud. I assume if you want shock covers for a Spyder it is strictly for appearance unless you are doing some off-roading. I think most Can Am ATV dealers (i.e. Spyder dealers) have these.

If you lived in Michigan, you might want them, at least for the rear shock. You see, they repair the blacktop roads by throwing shovelfuls of hotmix asphalt in / near the holes and then let the cars pack it in. :yikes: If you are riding down the road just after they've done this, your vehicle gets pelted by the loose tar and asphalt flung up by your tires. :banghead: I have ran into that situation twice this year on my Spyder and it is a mess. And that stuff seems to really be attracted to the rear shock. It's hard enough to clean off of the panels where you can easily reach but it's really hard to reach in by the rear shock to get the little stones out.

that part number is that for front and rear shock:popcorn:

are those shocks socks for the front only or front & rear?

I don't know how well they fit any of the Spyder shocks but I have heard that others have bought them and they had to buy two sets to cover all three of the Spyder shocks. Maybe you could contact the eBay seller to get sizes / measurements of the covers. Heck, your local BRP dealer might have these in stock. They are stock factory covers for the BRP ATVs.

I am in MI (Jackson) and for some reason, I have not run into tar patch yet. I did run into a construction zone where I had to go through some dirt and it did collect on the rear shock, but the front ones stayed clean. Rear tire does deposit crud on the rear shock, but the dirt washed right off with a hose. I think you need two front shock socks for the rear due to the size. They are stock and apparently carried by Can Am dealers, so you should be able to make a trial fit right in the parking lot before leaving.

Hey BJT, you guys are lucky over on the east side of the state, then. Here in boonies, they just leave the holes until they fill with broken car parts. :D
