• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Pingel Customer Service

Just a quick post to let you know about some pretty good customer service.

I bought a Pingel Electric Shifter from a third party Supplier (not directly from Pingel) earlier this year. I had some issues installing it and called their customer support. After sending a few emails and pictures back and forth, we got the issues worked out and had it up and running in a day.

2500 miles later, I found (on returning from a trip to Louisianna) that the shift peg replacement piece that comes with the kit, had worked is way loose and was "wallowing" in the pinch hole, not allowing the shifter to make a good push or pull and shift.:yikes: I did a roadside emergency repair with electrical tape, and zip ties and got it home. Called Pingel this morning and told them about it, and they asked that I send it back so they can look at it and see if it needs modifying. I asked if they could send me a replacement one in the meantime, and they checked stock, and agreed without hesitation, (even though I didnt buy directly from them).:2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs:

New piece on its way, and Ill send the old one back for evaluation. I'll also take the liberty of getting some good measurements on the new piece before installing it and see if my machinist friends can make me something out of steel rather than the cast aluminum to avoid a repeat performance.

Great customer support!!!!!

Issue aside, how do you like the shifter? I've never tried one but from descriptions I've been given it works like an SE5 but with a clutch that you can pull to coast, stop and start. I find the SE5 to be... well let's just say I wish I had more control.

Once I got some "muscle memory" and knew where to push the buttons, I loved the shifter. As long as its adjusted properly, it works great. I had an issue with missing 1st tio 2nd quite a bit, but got it adjusted and got used to how to milk the clutch through that shift and it started worknig flawlessly.
