• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

:hun: Sure you can use Pingel Chocks or any other sort of chocks for your Spyder... it may be me, but I don't quite get the what or why of what you are asking?!? :dontknow:

Any 'fixed or removable' chock (made by Pingel or anyone else) will work to stop your Spyder moving if fitted/used properly..... AFAIK Pingel chocks are just one make of 'drive in' chocks, all of which can be used just so long as the wheel will fit inside the open end of the chock. ;)

Standard Spyder front tires are a nominal 165mm wide, ie 165/55R15 or similar in14" dia tires for those Spyders still running 14" front wheels instead of the newer post 2013 15" rims. Some of us run slightly wider tires on the std rims (I run 175/60R15's) & some few run even wider rims so they can fit tires that are wider, some almost as wide as the rears....

If you want a 'drive-in chock' (made by Pingel or anyone else) to suit your Spyder, you just need to purchase a chock that is wide enough to allow your rims & tires to go in, & you might need to specify one low enough to avoid hitting the 'A' arms or fenders on the sides of the chocks too.

Does that cover what you were after?? :dontknow:

USING CHOCKS

If you use the drive on/in type make sure your rear tire has Excellent traction on the trailer .... or you can have much difficulty backing up off/out of the Chocks .......... On my set-up, I have to climb a 10 ft ramp that rises 26 inches ( a very steep climb ).... I took some 26 ga. sheet metal 6in. wide and made 100's ( maybe more ) of Partial nail holes into the sheet metal ... turned it over and screwed it onto the ramp .... it's now like a cheese grater :gaah:.... I have gone up the Ramp in the pouring rain , stopped , checked where my rear tire was , then continued up.... "the tire NEVER lost traction "..... a really cheap fix ... This has been witnessed by many folks here , and they are amazed at how well it works .......... Mike
