Picking up tomorrow

Picking up my new f3 tomorrow. I could not take my 2014 sts anymore! I have not had it 2 years and 42000 miles and 6 MONTHS in the shop I gave up!!! I am getting a left over 2015 f3 sm6 with blue ridge wind screen shad saddlebags and the tall back rest!! My question is this I put tons of miles on these spyder and is the f3 a good touring machine? I know I will need a bigger rear spring or brps 2 up shock and I'm going to add cruise control too. A new seat will be in the future too. But besides that have people done 600 miles a day on one day after day?

:congrats: on your new ride. Hopefully, this one will give you miles and miles of smiles.

Congratulations on your newest ride!
You will probably have to sort out it's touring capabilities on your own...nojoke As delivered; they have very little storage space. Talk to Machinegunner about his saddlebags: they look good, and are HUGE!

I have the shad saddlebags on order they look big I just hope this thing is comfortable!

I ride with a couple of F3s... One of them is running Elka shocks, and he's pretty happy with it.
The other one is still on the stockers, and he does not like getting "beat up", on secondary roads.
Whatever they turn out to feel like: it can easily be changed!
Post pics after you get it home! :D

Can do I don't think all of the goodies are in yet but it will give me time to play around with it!!

If you come across a used RT sway bar on here pick it up won't do anything for straight line riding but sure helps in corners, also if your over 5'8" you may need an extension for that Blue Ridge, I don't see a problem with long distance, myself I'm still can't decide if I want a backrest or not so still on hold on that one, good luck hope you love it.

I'm just under 6 ft what is up about this extension is there a lot of wind buffeting?!

I think the F3 is a great touring machine! A few weeks ago, the wife and I rode our F3's out to the Smoky Mountains. Over 2550 miles in 6 days. On the way out there, day 1 was about 640 miles. On the way home, we did the ride in one day - 910 miles. My F3-S is stock, as far as the suspension goes, and I have the Blue Ridge windshield. Lamont's 3rd peg adds another foot position, one that's more like a sport tourer (reminds me of my old K1600 GTL with the foot position more or less straight below me). We'll be riding our Spyders to Valcourt next year - 1,800 miles, minimum each way, so there will be plenty of long days in the saddle.

At 6 ft you may want to look into a X-creen Tour or Lamnair Lip but try it out first you may not need either one, at 5'8" wind was just hitting top of helmet and a lot of noise I used the Lip but X-creen is more adjustable.

I can't help with the longer runs question but I've just put the Shad bag kit on mine and they are big inside. Really nice kit. Just bought they inner bags too as they are so reasonably priced and can recommend them. Really nicely made and fit the bags perfectly.

They are wide, but don't stick out any more than the front wheels so it's a non issue.

If you want some more storage I also use an Oxford Aqua T50 dry bag strapped over the passenger seat. Holds a lot (has my crutches in it) and properly waterproof.

Can also recommend a cast off standard RT sway bar and the 2016 2 up shock. Put both on mine and they are great value upgrades if you don't want to spend Elka/Baja Ron money.
