• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Picking up my new F3-T, Recommend any first mods/farkles?

F3ltd baja ron swaybar rls cat delete stage 2 ecu to start then maybe upgrade shocks

You’re not the first one to mention Baja Ron’s sway bar. I’ve read it really keeps the Spyder planted. I probably won’t mess with the ECU due to warranty concerns.

Yeah, I’m going to pull the Ram phone/cup holder off my bike and put on the Spyder, along with my heated gear controller.

Pikester,

I have added a cup holder on the left side near the rider floor board. Look at "My Albums" to see what farkles I've added.

I also have/use a "First Gear Heat-troller made by Warm-Safe which is placed in front of the dashboard.

RJ,
I received your PM, but it says I don’t have permission to reply. I sent a message to admin to find out why. That’s an impressive list, and like Deanna said earlier, sometimes the farkling never ends! Ride safe…..

Pikester, your Account shows that you're currently a 'Registered User - No Login Since 2017 1 or more Posts'.... That's probably be due to the fairly large gap between your last post back in late April 2013 & when you re-started posting again late last month here:

https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums...020-2023-RT-Tall-Riders-out-there-Need-advice

But it shouldn't be too hard to fix, once Admin gets your message & then gets a chance to fix it, which shouldn't take too long (altho we aren't the only site he hasta look after. ;) ) I'm just sorry there's nothing that any of us Mods can do for you in the meantime. :(

No problem Peter and thanks for filling me in!

Looks good! Does your leg hit the cup holder? I like the dual power outlets on the center handlebar mount. I also have a Warm N Safe remote heat controller I will get mounted. I ride year round and heated gear is a life saver.

Some also say the new ones don't handle that bad, don't know I am riding old iron!!!:2thumbs:

So my must have list would be drive belt idler, from brand new mine felt like I was hitting the rumble strip on the side of the road any time I went over 70. The idler/tensioner did fix that problem but its ridiculous to sell a brand new trike and not address this from the factory. I feel like the sway bar and at minimum stage 3 front shocks are mandatory to make the trike anything like good. Felt like driving a ice cream truck in the curves otherwise. I could barley keep up with a old chevy suburban on the mountain curves. My next purchase will be in a decent seat. Probably going to go with Russel Daylong upgrade. Hope you enjoy.

I had an RDL on my GS1250 and it was the best seat I’ve ever owned, and I’ve had a Laam, Ultimate, Sargent and Corbin. I’m probably going to go with an Ultimate Tall Boy, as they are pretty dang comfortable as well, but, I might plan another ride in to RDL and then ride Hwy 1 again. That is an awesome ride!

When I bought my F3-S new in 2015 I first added a Madstad windshield. After riding a thousand miles or so I added LED headlights and fog lights from Lamonster and the brake/run/turn strobe light kit from SpyderPops. I want to be clearly seen by cagers!

How do you like the Madstad? I had one on a previous bike and once I got it set right, it worked great.

Congrats on the new purchase. You have the right idea with moving your cup holder and phone holder over from your K1600. Once you get a little familiar with the bike, I would make my first purchase either the pedal commander or pedal box. It will wake up the throttle response.
We have similar interest, as I have a 2021 RTL, (my wife's) 2016 F3 Limited Special Series, and a BMW K1600B. You are correct, the 1600 gets a little cumbersome at slow speeds, but it goes so well into the corners with speed.

Thanks blacklightning! Yeah, I’m going to miss my K. That’s the smoothest running bike I’ve ever owned and for a sport touring bike, that thing scoots. Ride often and ride safe!!
