• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi everyone,
I’m picking up a 23 F3-T this coming weekend and I can’t wait! I’m trading in my K1600GT, which has been a great bike, but I’m looking forward to getting on 3 wheels. I’m riding from Rio Rancho, NM to Provo, Utah, so I’ll have some time to get familiar with the ride. Let me hear some recommendations for the “must have” accessories. I’m thinking one of the first things will be a taller shield, as I’m 6’5” and the stock shield is pretty short. Looking forward to everyone’s suggestions.
Ride safe,
Billy aka Pikester

Forget the Farkles .... just get home safe ..... Spyders are a learning experience ..... if you try and drive like your K1600 .... your very likely to crash ...... the best advice I got was .... drive like a car ... test the brakes immed. , they are powerful ... the LESS input you apply for STEERING the easier it will be ..... good luck ..;.;.. Mike

Thanks Mike! I owned an early RT Audio & Convenience, so I’m familiar with how they ride, but it has been a while. Yeah, definitely won’t ride it like the K, but I’m already thinking of long rides I can take. The K was a fun bike, but it’s a beast to maneuver around at slow speeds. Thanks again for the advice & ride safe as well!

Pikester,

When you make left/or right turns, push thru the curves, don't lean like you would on a 2 wheel motorcycle.

Get nothing but some miles.

After a few thousand get the accessories and upgrades for your comfort and safety.

My $3k list probably would leave you wanting something different.

Totally agree! Riding always puts a smile on my face. I always remember the quote, “Live to ride and ride to live.”

Sounds like a good start! I already have a wish list on Lamonster’s site, I think it’s going to have a few more items.

Also add to your list: A cup holder, top cuff ( for phone) A-arm lights. The farkle list is endless.

Get some seat time before you start swapping out stuff, see if it fits your riding style then swap out the things that don't fit your style!! Make it yours and have fun doing it!!!:congrats:

Thanks Mikey! Nothing like getting in some seat time to figure out what doesn’t feel right. I definitely will be installing my drink holder as I need something to hold my sweet tea from Chick-Fil-A!

RJ,
I received your PM, but it says I don’t have permission to reply. I sent a message to admin to find out why. That’s an impressive list, and like Deanna said earlier, sometimes the farkling never ends! Ride safe…..
