There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Phantom Black Kit

Called my dealer, the ever more famous Big Number 1. I asked if they can get the kits. They can. I asked if they can match Rob's price, he can. I asked if there's anything else coming out, he said yes.

I asked if could let me know...what they are....

He said he couldn't. He doesn't have the time. I asked why they became a dealer...silence.

Sometimes I sits and thinks, sometimes I just sits.

:banghead:

Ahhh - the irony of customer service. If you don't have the time for customers, you end up not having many customers and plenty of time to wonder why!

Any have pics of the Phantom Black kit installed?

I was at the dealer yesterday, just outside Toronto, and they had one in stock..even held one the fenders up to my machine to try and get a sense of what it would look like...but would really like to see pics of fully installed kit...Anyone else considering the flat black kit ?

'just what is this Phantom Black kit, you are all speaking of? :dontknow:

BRP is selling a flat black panel kit. You can buy the panels and replace your current ones so that your Spyder is all black. I believe the kit sells for $999.00, don't quote me though. They have been talking about it for some time and it just became available for purchase this week.

Twodog185, don't take it personal. I don't know who you were talking to there at Big #1 but I bet I can guess. There are two people there on the parts counter, a girl and a guy. I have dealt with both and I have received more help from the girl. Hmmm. If you aren't getting what you want from either of them, ask for Bobby, the GM. He is a great guy and will treat you right.

Yeah Rick...I don't take it personal, I just can't get anybody there excited about the Spyder.

I asked the guy at the service desk if they have the doohicky to set the belt tension. He said he didn't know, and that getting special tools from BRP is difficult.

I asked the parts guy about the shop manual, he said they've been put on a "don't have and don't when we'll have them" list from BRP. Sports Center (Cullman) called me and told me he found 77 available and I have one coming.

Just too many stories to tell.

Saw an all black one (flat black) at the car show last night - it's "ok" - I do like the silver & yellow better - Black is cool and all but personally I don't think it's good with the idiots who drive cars and don't see ya coming.:dontknow:

Yup, I'll quote Deb!

This is what was just posted on spyderryder by the Spyder Team:

"...Regarding the Phantom Black Bodywork Kit, the Part Number is 219400090. These kits should be available to dealers within the next few weeks..."

If my arithmetic is correct, that's a bargain over the $1318.41 when purchased separately.

Now if I can just get the silver panels to transform to black ones at the push of a button...

I hear from alot of customers talking about other dealer in my area complaining of them not helping them people out if they didn't buy there bike there. Not saying thats the case with Big#1. But everyone is a potental customer that may buy a bike or whatever. So I am saying treat them like they are.

I don't get way of thinking either. We dealt with a dealer with a similar philosophy on a horse trailer we had. Being they didn't sell us the trailer, we were treated like second class customers. Our trailer work took a backseat to any other job they had going. Needless to say, it was the last time we ever did business with them.

Also, somebody once mentioned that dealers have a bigger markup potential on the accessories than on the bikes, snowmobiles, etc. So a few accessory sales could equal the same profit as one big ticket item sale.

No excitement, I can't understand why they wouldn't be. Last time I was in talking to Bobby about a month ago, he indicated that they had sold 39 spyders already. If you can't get excited about that then you need to get out of the business.

Look up Bobby the next time you are in and vent your frustrations with him. I believe he will get someone excited.
