There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Performance Chip

I Wanted to share, my Spyder has had, Cruising speed lurching ,Spyder stalls on take-off unless it is over-reved and you feather the clutch slowly ... but only after it has warmed up (when it's cold, it takes off wonderfully.

Bought my wife a spyder and knew for sure I had problems. The dealer rode both spyders and agreed that hers ran better, was quicker and smoother. Dealer didn't know what to do, everything checked out on BUDS with the exception of a slight gasket leak on exhaust. All problems still existed.

Took a chance and bought this $65. performance chip, did install and tuned bike. What a great product, bike runs as well as my wifes now. Below is the link.
http://cgi.ebay.com/HP-DYNO-BOOST-PE...3A1%7C294%3A50. Installation and tuning consisted of: splicing into the air tempature out put wire. t-into the O2 out put wire, connecting power with fuse and switch. Then adjustment of screw until performance is gained. The only con that I have is when it's 60 outside my gauge reads 27.

Huh...most everything I have read as far as ryder experiences seem to say that the Spyder runs better after its warmed up....yours seems to be the opposite....hadn't seen that before....

would installing this chip void the warranty? Any long-term concerns as far as damaging the motor? Just curious....glad u are getting the results u want...

The device doesn't change any maps, the chip makes the spyder think it's cold out, so it runs richer, it's within it's own perimeters so no motor damage can occur, Not sure about the warranty, I do all my own work on the spyder . I'm fine tuning to get gas mileage back. You can switch the chip on and off, when riding in hilly conditions the speed doesn't vary. The torgue is great now that I have the chip.

That doesn't make any sense...it runs richer, but your getting better mileage?
It has gerat torque, but you turn it off in hilly condtions when you need the torque?

I think he said he's fine tuning to get his gas mileage back which would mean he's lost mpg's due to it running richer...and I don't believe he said he turns it off in hilly conditions, just that he can turn it on and off.As far as the hills, I think he mentioned that just to say that the speed doesn't vary on them....at least thats how I'm reading it.....(btw, is the low and mid-range torque on the Spyder suitable for steep climbs? I remember reading that the rotax engine was detuned specifically to provide more push in those powerbands).

rxx777: Can you switch the chip on and off on the fly? that's pretty neat.....

that's exactly what I meant. yeah. its hooked to a switch. thanks

Wouldn't a JuiceBox be a better approach to modifying the fuel map?

Yes-- I think something like the JB, JB Pro or Power Commander would work best--- although they really (at least JB) are not changing your fuel maps.

My first question for this poor running Spyder would be does it have all the correct updates? Sounds like he needs update #2 done.

Also what mods, exhaust, intake are installed?
