• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

performance air filter kit

has anyone tried to install the performance air filter kit, are there any problems with it or noticable performance upgrade? says it stops oil leakeage problem

I think if you go this route you are best to add the O2 Modifier and then have a look at the Juice Box for added HP.

I started with the the performance filter and then added the Juice Box . It made a huge difference performance wise but I started to get a lot of backfiring on deceleration, this went away once the O2 modifier was installed .

What about those "Green" filters... I know that they offer them for both Spyders... They look like a drop-in replacement, but is there any functional advantage to them?

The K&N, Green, Evoluzion and other cotton gauze filters flow better than stock. Have the Evoluzion on order from Kewlmetal.

They're not all cotton! The Green is supposed to be the best...do the ping pong/hairdryer test on all three...the green should allow the most air through...add on a JB and a better pipe and you're good to go!

The K&N is a drop in replacement for the stock one...no modification to the box at all..Put one in with the hindle and 02 modifier....Big difference in performance.

I put the Green filter on my RT. I don't know if it is just that I had not ridden for 7 weeks, but WOW!! I LOVE the get up and goooooo. Simple install too.

More air in, more air out plus more fuel equals more performance with most or big chunk coming from adding more fuel. If you go with a higher flow "replacement" filter rather than the system, taking the snorkels off of airbox helps a little also. Keep in mind that kewlmetal or evoluzione SYSTEM is very loud. Louder than sounds from hindle and full throttle, almost.
Oh and it will eliminate that oil dripping problem as it's routed into engine to be just burned off.

Which one are you referring too? I have this one installed (KewlMetal kit) but can't speak to performance because the :spyder: is still in the reassembly process. If you do a search for intake you will get a lot of information. :D
