• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Passenger foot peg extensions

SPYD1

I am wondering if these are worth the investment for those that have them? Any other options worth discussing?

I know that my wife really appreciates them and she's not tall at 5'4". Your best input is going to come from your passenger.

My wife would not ride with the stock pegs and that is why I bought the bike, so she could ride. So, this was my first mod many years ago.

My Wife loves them too. Without them, her feet were tucked so far under her that her hands were the only thing stopping her from leaning forward every time I braked. We had lots of helmet to helmet contact without them.
I bought mine used from a member that upgraded to floorboards.

Put them on my 08 GS when I had it and ride was much more comfortable for the passenger. Do it.

Doesn't this almost make you wonder why they didn't just equip all of the GS/RS bikes with them right from the start?? :dontknow:

Yes it does. The bad thing is my wife would rather be uncomfortable when riding than spend a buck. So these things for her comfort are hard sells. I don't want her to not ride for this reason.

My hubby has the same opposition to money spent on mods. He resisted a back rest and the passenger peg extensions. But, he was having hip cramps every time we got on and off the Spyder. I finally insisted on these mods. After the fact, he will now admit that he feels more comfortable and secure. The higher foot pegs left him feeling like he was "perched" on the seat. No more helmet collisions either!!!

The Spyder should have come equiped with the pegs set lower from the start!

I use these, my girlfriend (5'10") is very comfortable on them.

Note that they come with either a 5" or a 7" arm. I chose the 5" arm and it works great (methinks the 7" arm will bring the front of the passenger boards too close to the driver pegs, or in my case, my driver floorboards. The 5" gives both of us enough room, YMMV).

I agree; this is the route that we went also. I believe they are the first passenger boards that can fold up when not used. They also are adjustable. I had them powder coated black.

PASSENGER FOOT REST OPTIONS

I have something that I think will make passengers more comfortable in the leg room area, I will be bringing them to Spyderfest. You can try them out before you buy and see what you think. Unfortunately they are NOT EXPENSIVE .....Mike...at Days Inn St. James.. PS they are for R/S, G/S...I don't think they will work on an RT..
