• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Passenger Backrest Install

I'm in the process of installing a passenger backrest on my 2014 RSS, and I'm having difficulty sliding the receiver into the frame channel. Was wondering if anyone had a similar experience, or did I just get a reject of a part. I was thinking of maybe grinding down the receiver a bit, what do you Spyder folks think? I've attached some pics of what I mean. Much thanks, Joe

:dontknow: If OEM it should fit just fine maybe require a bump or two but not grinding or shaving unless is in the instructions with proper locations:lecturef_smilie: looking at the pics I see what looks like wire loom holders pressed thru on 3 sides. They may simply need pushed out till receiver is mounted then put back in:dontknow: again should be in the instructions

Thanks for the input. I thought it was getting caught up on the wire holders too but it doesn't even make it in that far. The slide receiver won't clear the (not sure the name of the part) the piece just before the frame channel. I might just try hammering it in with a rubber mallet? Thanks again

Yes, and sorry for not posting sooner. It was a REALLY tight fit, but the rubber mallet worked great. The instructions said that it would just "slide in", which wasn't the case at all. But now that it's installed, I am very happy with it (my wife even happier)! Thanks for your help :2thumbs:
