• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Paris in the 1890’s

That was some good stuff. :firstplace: Liked the moving sidewalk. That was a big surprise to me. Saw one, two, and four "horsepower" vehicles.

Who said, "Don't pollute, ride a horse?" It had to be pretty slippery for those bicycles following the horses.

That was fun...

Lots of oatsmobiles back then...the moving sidewalks were interesting to see way back then...

I wonder what they did with all the 'horsepower residue'? Hadta go somewhere, didn't it?? :dontknow:

Didja notice the two speeds on the moving sidewalk? First lane bit moved along slow enough for people to safely step on & off, then once aboard that lane, those walking/riding could step across/move further in onto the lanes further away from the camera & get to move along a fair rate faster!! Pretty smart stuff for its time!

But I'm a little disillusioned & disappointed - the title notes said 'speed corrected & added sound' or something along those lines!! So does that mean that people back then didn't really all walk fast & snappy like they show them doing in the all the silent movies!! Say it ain't so!! :yikes:

:joke:

The moving sidewalks reminded me of one Robert Heinlein’s books where there were moving sidewalks that got faster the farther you stepped over to the next one.
