• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

paint on stock muffler

I noticed my black/gray paint is coming off my stock muffler...anyone else have this problem?

No never heard of this before. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Yes, almost all stock pipes run long enough will do this.

Search the posts here and you will see may threads about this issue.

For some reason BRP seems to have issues with the paint staying on long term. :dontknow:

For *some* reason BRP has issues with the stock PIPE staying on the bike at all-----:roflblack:--- perhaps because it looks horrible and performs worse than it looks--------;)

Get some high quality BBQ paint (maybe we should have given away a few cans at the BBQ).

You can keep your stock exhaust looking fresh that way. :ohyea:

Mine has almost flaked off - I am planning on just taking the paint off and giving the muffle a burnished steel look. Why waste the paint. :dontknow:

The paint started flaking off my stock muffler last winter. In the spring, I removed the pipe, removed the pipe hanger, sanded it all down and recoated everything with DEI high temp paint. It's been holding up well so far.

This was after about 600 miles when it was new.

YES, I definitely have this problem. The black paint has peeled off in a number of places and badly discoloured. There are 5 or 6 "spots" in a row along the length of the pipe. It looks like it might be from heat at the weld spots along the catalytic converter. I'm not sure if it is covered under warranty, but will ask. I will try to take a pic and post it on this thread. Probably in the next few days
