• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This is a good forum. I would like to support it. How do I pay to become a paid member? What extra do I get as a paid member.

I don't believe that Lamont has a mechanism in place for this...
But you could always PM him, and ask!

I'd be happy to pay something; to be able to play in here...

Not seeing it....

Nice gesture and maybe if the site had started out that way. But if it had I don't think it would be what it is today. It's not the amount or not wanting to help but the expectations that come when you pay to play... Lamont could dedicate a product whos sales could fund the site and we can all contribute that way. Say a Spyderlovers patch, T-shirt, cap etc. which he may already do. JMO...

I'd pay if I could disable specific sub-forums in the What's New results.......But I guess turning off the Off-Topic forum would really make this forum quiet.....

 :agree:
That's where the discussions get to become the most...'Interesting"! nojoke

I look at it as shopping at a mega-store. I don't have to go down every isle. I just hit the departments that interest me. There are parts of some stores that I have never been in.

But isn't there Facebook for that? I'm amazed at how many, many posts are just someone re-posting something from websites that exist to continually feed videos and "stories" about disparate topics to their viewers. It's kind of like back in the Old days of emails where folks thought it was important to Forward every "joke" email they got to everyone they had in their address book, because they (the prolific forwarder) thought they were the center of the internet communication system and that NONE of their friends (in their address book) were getting those very same emails from other friends. I've seen my own father re-forward and email to the same person that originally forwarded the joke to my father.

Putting my Nomex suit and head gear on now......

No Nomex needed. Take a close look at the whole site and the subjects discussed on a daily basis. If we were to have Spyder only stuff--this would be a really slow site. I like talking :ani29:, but there is only so much to go around these days.

I like the off topic stuff...but say that with a grain of salt these days. I read most of everything on the site. I now participate in very little of the "hot" off topic items. The opinions there run strong and deep. No perfected argument is going to change any minds. I am also trying to not encourage the "pot stirrers." I have become a smart fish, and no longer rise to the bait. :roflblack::roflblack:

I come here to meet up with old friends and new ones. Have had the pleasure of meeting a few in person and look forward to meeting more. I try not to get mad at anyone--even though I disagree with them some times. As long as they keep it clean and don't go attacking others.
