• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

We've added to our "fleet"! :D:D:D:D:D We just picked up a new 2015 Honda Gold Wing 40th Anniversary edition bike. We enjoy both 3 wheel and 2 wheel riding. :ohyea:

I hope these two garage partners can get along!

We will be keeping up with the Spyderlovers activities including Spyderfest 2016 and our MN Spyderlovers group!:yes::yes:

 :congrats: It's a real Beauty!! :2thumbs:
You'll have a tough time deciding which bike to take: you've got two great alternatives!

Love that colour scheme on the Wing. Congrats as you have the best of both worlds covered. Had a 2012 Wing before the Spyder. Great touring bikes (both of them).

Gary

Congratulations. ...

Gotta say it's a bute :2thumbs: only problem is your spyder may feel dwarfed by that roomate.......:roflblack: enjoy the open road on either one....:ohyea::ohyea:

Beautiful Gold Wing. Love those colors.:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

I would have one in a minute--but the weight and heft is just to much for me at this time.

I note that Indian has a new one--the Springfield. It mostly resembles a HD Road King. I really love that one also. It has a nice 26" seat and I would be able to touch the ground with both feet. Alas, the closest dealer is 1100 miles away in Washington state.

If my hip fix goes good, I may be looking at two wheels again. Will still have a :ani29: in my garage though.:popcorn::popcorn:

Very nice goldwing. I just had a friend trade in his 2014 RT Limited after about 7 months for that identical bike. He said that the Spyder just wasn't for him. Hard to believe since he logged in about 27k miles in those 7 months. I think you will enjoy riding either one.

Thanks! Best wishes for your upcoming hip fix! Hope all goes well for you!

We are keeping both bikes. Our Spyder will be used as well. Love that bike! I miss my two wheel days...so as long as I can hold that heavy 2 wheeler up, I will ride it - hope to do that for at least 5+ years yet. Our Spyder is a "keeper" and has been trouble free. My goal is both bikes should last me for what I need so probably no more purchases (did I really say that - LOL). That's the plan, we'll see how it plays out! :D

The Spyder and Gold Wing are BOTH great bikes!! There is a big difference in riding techniques (as we all know), but I really like BOTH rides. I had a 2012 RT and now have the 2014 RT. I really like the 1330 triple and powertrain - great improvement over my 2012 RT. So, we will ride both and hopefully my legs will keep strong enough to allow me to ride the Gold Wing for several years to come. :D

Thanks for your comments!

BTW, we have over 26,000 miles on our 2014 RT and enjoyed every mile of it!

Agree with everything you are saying and planning on doing. If I do make a change, the 2014 RT-S will be Linda's. The 2011 will be trade fodder, unless someone jumps on a very good deal currently being offered.

In any case, the next bike will be the last purchased.

Never enough I still have and ride my 2013 Yamaha Vstar 950 tour ,just use Yamaha ride to work and Spyder weekend ride . Congratulation to you on your new Bike:f_spider:

Thanks Gene! If you look at the photo showing both bikes, I believe the Spyder will hold its own with its roommate! They are similar in size and both "heavy" bikes. Obviously the Spyder is wider with the front two wheel stance.

Here's a quick snapshot on dimensions & weight comparison ( had to check dimensions on the wing to make sure it would fit in my garage where I wanted to put it!! ):

Spyder RT: 105" L x 61.9" W, 1,012 lbs
Wing: 103.7"L x 37.2"W, 905 lbs.

Our Spyder RT is similar to the wing in it's "size" , just the difference in the 3 wheel vs. 2 wheel. Based on this, I believe they will "behave" and get along together in the garage!
