Out here in Northern we have hundreds of awesome roads to ryde. One such road is Highway 49 from Coulterville to Fremont Fort. This route is affectionately referred too as "The Little Dragon" after the tail of the dragon in Tennessee and North Carolina. The little Dragon is actually 5 miles longer at 16 miles, but has 45 fewer turns at 273. Let me tell you it is challenging especially with no shoulder or guard rail. My wife and I just slayed the little dragon on Friday Morning, WOW! This is what the Little Dragon looked like in 2013
Sadly for two weeks prior to our ryde the entire area was engulfed in flames. All along the route we saw signs posted thanking fire fighters for their heroics in saving hundreds of homes. Unfortunately 63 families were not as fortunate as their homes were lost. We saw hundreds of PGE employees replacing burned down power poles all along the route, working to restore power. While we loved the ryde, this is what the Little Dragon looks like now:
