There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. On my way home from SpyderQuest

I left Lake George late Sunday morning. I had wanted to go earlier, but i had coffee the night before and didn't even get to sleep until 2am. Going to Niagara Falls, I decided to take the scenic route at least half way and went north for a bit then rode through the Adirondacks before catching I-90 at Rome. $12.50 toll!!

At Niagara Falls I had a room at the Comfort Inn. I followed my map app directions and it took me right there, but I couldn't get around the corner because there was some festival going on and they had many streets closed off. I finally stopped where a cop was parked at one of the barricades. He got out of his car and gave me directions. He said he really liked the Spyder; I said he should get one, but he said he already has a Harley. Oh, well.

The hotel was right across the street from the state park visitor center. So I could leave my Spyder at the hotel and walk it. To get to all the sights I got a $2 all-day trolly pass, so it was really easy. I rode on the Maid-of-the-Mist, got some pics, got wet. The Falls are truly magnificent to see. The power, danger, beauty are amazing. That one checked off the bucket list! I had hoped to spend two nights at the Comfort Inn, but could only get the room for one night. At least I didn't have to ryde to do the sightseeing.

Late in the afternoon I got geared-up again and rode to a Red Roof Inn on the south edge of the Buffalo area. It had good ratings on Trip Advisor, and it turned out to be a good choice. The trade off for the lower price is no in-room coffee. But I figured that's OK since I have my electric kettle and some instant coffee with me. Then, this morning I realize I have no cup in which to make the coffee!! duh-1007.gif Duh!

So I got on down the road toward PA on I-90. It seems you can't ride an interstate highway in New York that's not a toll road. As if their gas tax wasn't high enough to cover the costs. But on the up-side, there are service areas every 30-50 miles and they are very nice. So I managed to get some breakfast and coffee before I had to go too far. Right inside PA I stopped at their visitor center to get another caffeine dose, and visited with the attendant there. He was a good representative for his state and I learned that the Appalachians in Pennsylvania are more correctly called the Alleghenies. Go figure!

Just before Cleveland I turned south on I-271, then on to i-71 to Columbus, which was where I had originally planned on stopping. But I was feeling good, so I got pushed on to Dayton. I had got on i-70 at Columbus and that's my yellow brick road that will lead me home to Kansas. I know that's not entirely right, but I left my ruby slippers at home, and it's all I got.

Enjoying reading your expressions of friendship, description of beautiful scenery

Reading your expressive joy, makes a very clear picture of a great time was had by all. ;-)

It really is a large extended family here. That's pretty swell even without the awesome gatherings. I like how these major events bring total strangers together, and start them into life long friendships.

Please post some pics?

Yesterday I rode from Dayton to St. Charles, Mo, just west of St. Louis. Between Indianapolis and Terre Haute, I was creeping along in 2nd gear more than I was running the sped limit. So I would open my shield and turn on the radio. Trying to make the best of the situation.

I have developed a routine - I ride until I have to pee, need gas, or see a Starbuck's. Yesterday, I stopped for fuel because it was really low, then about 20 miles down the road I saw a *$ sign and stopped again. For today, I've mapped the *$ locations out so I have them pre-planned. I'll stop - needing fuel or not! :ohyea:

Meeting you

Wife and I only spent Friday nite thru Sunday morning at Spyder Quest. We combined a 14 yr old birthday with this event so we didn't attend any get togethers.

One of the highlights was meeting you in the elevator Sunday morning. Wife commented you are as pleasant as your forum comments.

Drive safe and enjoy.

Needing more coffee to complete the trip?? :coffee::coffee::coffee:
You don't actually buy coffee; you only get to rent it!
(Just liike beer!)

DON'T BE COMPLAINING ABOUT OUR TAXES, They pay for our good roads and snowplows. I just got my school tax bill, can't figure out what they do with all that money. I am told that there is a bike convention over in Council Grove, Ks 1 or 2 times a month on Sunday(s). I hear there are spYders there. Is one of them you?

That's the Cassoday run, the first Sunday of each month during the summer. I think the last one will be October or November. I haven't been this year, yet, but will try to go to the October one.
