• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Okay for all the gear heads with shop manuals out there.

Hey guys,
Can anyone show me or tell me what page in the Spyder shop manual it states that when you change the belt or front or back sprocket, you should change them all at the same time, not just one part. I have heard this mentioned and mentioned it to my dealer today. The mechanic that was there had never heard this. The service manager is not in until next week. I told the mechanic if I found the information, I would email it to him. Also, what about this front end alignment or toe in, toe out issue. Anything in the manual or service bulletins regarding this? Anything about alignment tools?

Here is the reason I am asking all these questions above. As many of you know I had my engine rebuild because of the front sprocket and pulley splines or something like that, last year. Well, I just dropped my spyder off at the dealer this morning due to a horrible whining noise coming from the front. It sounds really bad when you just push it back and forth in neutral as well. The belt needs to be replaced for sure but it is definitely more than just that.

Also, after only about 10,000 miles on my spyder I had to replace my front tires due to uneven wear and the front right was so worn on the inside compared to the left it was ridiculous. The dealer told me back then, late 2008 or early 2009 that it was due uneven inflation in my front tires. I bit the bullet and paid for new front tires. I did not believe that was the issue but they said it was not an alignment problem. Since that time, I see many others have had similar issues. Well, this set of tires is having the same issue and it is even worse. I have kept the inflation even on both front tires and added RideOn. My front ride is almost bald on the inside and there is plenty of wear left on the front left tire.

Last but not least, my oil light is coming on when I come to a stop and idle. It goes off when I start driving again but then when I come to a stop at a light or stop sign, it comes on again.

This is the latest saga in my spyder. I am just glad I made it home from the BRP trip before I had to take it to the shop for all of these issues. I have confidence it will all be taken care of, I just want to make sure if it should be under warranty, that it is covered. So once again, any of you gear heads that have shop manual page numbers or service bulletin numbers for me, please let me know. I will forward them to my dealer to show them why everything should be done the correct way and if it wasn't then my expenses should be covered under warranty. Thanks in advance for all your help.

Normally replacing one or the other should be ok but if you have 10000+ miles on the components then all 3 would be a reasonable request.

Hope this helps.
