• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My wife asked me if i would run to the store & pick up a package of toilet paper. Being the best husband i can be ( and knowing the proper answer) i said sure. I go...grab the TP check out & go home. Now...you would assume all was well upon my arrival back home.....not so fast grasshopper....apparently during a well planned corporate meeting in a remote area ,known only too those with the need to know, it was decided to market 1 ply TP. Now me not being a person to follow such corporate decisions didnt know there is a differance in TP....my wife being understanding of my lack of knowledge......said "its ok honey, i will take it back". Now that all is well with my home life ( for now) my question is this.......why in the hell would anybody want very thin TP. Is it some sort of gooey fetish that some people relish? Am i missing something? As i see it, the high ups in the corp world dont have to worry cause they probably have people to wipe for them.....it seems they setting us up for failure. Lol was just a fun observation.

 I think that they only sell that one-ply stuff as a huge joke.

Only it really ain't all that funny! :banghead:

If I could get away with mounting a paper-towel dispenser in the throne room: I'd do it in a second!

TP

generally, we will use thinner TP in the camper since it breaks down quicker in the blue water.

That's the only place where I try to use it also... I may just go to my paper towel trick, and use a "diaper bag" in the RV throne room for them...

Have you ever tried the Calgon and ice cubes trick, to clean out the blackwater tank? :dontknow:

My wife would kill me if I brought that thin stuff home.

Brings to mind a joke I heard some time ago.......
A father and his son ran out of toilet paper in the woods, so the father had to go and when he came back to the son, the son ask what he had wiped with? The father proudly said, "Why, I used a dollar!" The son didn't say much after that and it wasn't long before he had to go.

He was gone for a while and finally came out shaking his hand, trying to rid it of poo. The father ask what happened. The son replied angrily, "Those 4 quarters did not help me one bit!"

I guess some things can't be taught and must be experienced firsthand!:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

 It's a good thing that he didn't use a five-dollar bill; or higher! :yikes:

Here's the thing....

Many establishments use the one ply and if you ask they will say people just use twice as much so not much in savings. Then the quilted give the illusion of thickness but are not much thicker. It's tough to find a good one and when you do they stop making it or substitute a new improved version that is thinner...:banghead: I found that the COSTCO Kirkland brand two ply are really great and good price.....just a lot at one time....:roflblack:

Effective and Reusable!

Zero load on your septic system....

:D I'll be happy when they come out with one that's got a snow tire tread on it... and feels about like like a chunk of conveyor belt! nojoke

(It keeps my bung scared, so it doesn't dare misbehave too badly! :roflblack:)

Back in the day on Grandpa's farm we used the 3 corn cob method, 2 brown and 1 white.

First a brown one, then the white one to see if you needed the second brown one.

or pages out of the Sears and Roebuck catalog.

It's all about the downsizing that is slowly going on around us. I see Campbells soup is now down to 10 oz. cans. They used to be about 15 oz. The price has remained about the same. Seen the soda pop aisle lately? 8 oz. cans compared to 12. oz. cans. The price is equal to or more than the 12 oz. offerings. Generic is still holding at a lower price and 12 oz. sizes. Potato chips? I am not paying $7 for a bag. Etc., etc, etc. They say in the background it is portion control and calories. They are trying to protect us from ourselves. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Trekking in the highlands of Nepal, the locals will advise you to pick two smallish smooth pebbles before you leave the river flats.... this is because there's no toilet paper available in the highlands, and even if there was, it'd soon be blowing all around the place!! So you use a smooth pebble to clean up after you've defecated over the low wall at the edge of the track.... :sour:

Why TWO pebbles you might ask?!? Well, not for the reason you might think!! One works fine for that. But as you walk higher, the air gets dryer & it becomes very hard to avoid getting a very dry mouth & throat, so the second pebble is to pop into your mouth & under your tongue to keep you salivating so that your mouth & throat won't dry out... :lecturef_smilie:

JUST DON'T GET THE PEBBLES MIXED UP!! We were told that Right is your polite hand & the pebble for under your tongue; Left is your dirty hand & the pebble for under your ....... well, for the other end! ;)

At my house, we use the nice thick quilted stuff.
When company or relatives come that may be there for a while we swap it all out for the single ply.
Hey, they are welcomed, but not for too long.
